📷 3. Camera Permission & QR Code Scanning

Here is exactly how we handle camera data:

• Real-time processing only: The camera feed is processed locally on your device in real time to detect QR codes. No video stream or image frames are recorded, stored on the device, or transmitted to any server.
• No photographs taken: The App does not capture, save, or share photos or screenshots from the camera.
• No remote access: We never access your camera in the background or when the App is not in active use in the foreground.
• User-controlled permission: Camera access is requested at runtime. You may revoke camera permission at any time through your device's Settings → Apps → [App Name] → Permissions. Revoking permission will disable QR scanning functionality.
• Decoded content stays on-device: The text or URL decoded from a QR code is displayed to you directly. It is only stored or transmitted if you explicitly choose to save or share it.

⚙️ 4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:

• To provide and operate the QR code scanning functionality of the App.
• To display decoded QR code content to you in the App interface.
• To maintain a scan history on your device, if you enable this feature.
• To diagnose crashes and technical issues and improve App performance.
• To comply with applicable laws and regulations.

We do not use your data for advertising profiling, sell it to third parties, or process it for any purpose beyond what is described in this policy.

🤝 5. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer your information to outside parties, except:

• Service providers: Trusted third-party vendors (e.g. crash-reporting tools such as Firebase Crashlytics) who assist us in operating the App, subject to confidentiality agreements. These providers only receive anonymised, non-identifiable technical data.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information where required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, user data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Camera footage and decoded QR code content are never shared with any third party under any circumstances.

Camera data is processed entirely in memory and is never persisted to disk or transmitted remotely.

Scan history (decoded QR content) is stored locally on your device only if you enable the scan history feature. You can clear this history at any time from within the App's settings. Uninstalling the App will also permanently delete all locally stored data.

Anonymised crash and analytics data is retained by our service providers for up to 12 months, after which it is automatically purged.

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect the information associated with the App, including:

• All network communications use TLS 1.2 or higher encryption.
• On-device scan history data is stored in the application's sandboxed private storage.
• We conduct periodic security reviews of our code and dependencies.

While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but will promptly notify affected users if a data breach occurs that is likely to result in risk to your rights and freedoms.

This App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum digital age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete such information.
